About Sweet Basil

Jacqui Agostinelli and James Squires make up the Duo known as Sweet Basil. Their harmonies shine to bring audiences a one-of-a-kind experience.

Classic songs from all different decades and genres of music make the show appealing to all ages and tastes. From classic duet ballads to upbeat dancing-to-the-beat favorites. A little something for everyone!

Performing their unique show in South Florida’s Restaurants, Tiki Bars, Breweries, Trade Shows and venues of all kinds.

Jacqui Agostinelli

Jacqui grew up in Rochester, NY and went on to study Musical Theatre in Boston. She continued studying education and Transformational Training in NYC and South Florida. Jacqui has performed extensively throughout the North East and Florida in a variety of shows, with orchestras and cabarets. She has finally found her musical home with the love of her life, James! Sweet Basil matches the love of some of her favorite tunes with the man she adores. She hopes you enjoy this body of work as much as she loves singing it for you. Jacqui resides in Jupiter, Florida with her loving partner, James Squires and their fur baby family.

James Squires

James grew up in Miami FL and began singing professionally at the age of 17 at various big name hotels on Miami Beach. His background in Radio broadcasting, theatre and singing allows him to entertain through many different genres of music. Offering his DJ magic as he mixes the shows and creates a different experience tailored for the event and venue. As lead singer with a vast vocal range, he has performed with various different bands throughout his career; as well as in the White House and at the Vatican in Rome. He has the ability to sing tunes from country to folk to pop.

The Music

Sweet Basil began with Jacqui and James singing some of the best-known Classic Duets from all genres of music. Over time they have continued to add more upbeat tunes to the song list. From Love Songs like Dolly Pardon & Kenny Rankin’s Islands in the Stream to One Direction’s Night Changes and everything in between.

It’s Organic and Environmentally Sound! – – more

We are talking GREEN here! What could be more healthy than Sweet Basil? Ok well, maybe Brussell Sprouts, but that’s another topic. Environmentally friendly and no “after taste” like with other musical shows. No amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon compounds are emitted before, during or after the show! As always, no animals were injured in the rehearsal or preparation of the shows. In fact, our Jack Russell “Daisy Mae” may be in attendance if the venue can afford her outrageous fee.

Small Footprint with a Big Sound & Lights – – more

Sweet Basil can perform in any size space. The Duo footprint can be very small when needed or can expand to fit any stage area. Small size allows for quick set up and load out.

Sweet Basil can provide compete sound and lighting when needed. They can also provide a full DJ Service if you’d prefer a hybrid type affair. The DJ can alternate between the Show Sets to allow for dancing, dinner, presentations, or a full evening of varied entertainment.

Two Professional Broadcast Voices to MC Your Event – – more

Both Jacqui and James come from performing backgrounds including theatre, voiceovers and music. Having professionally trained voices to introduce speakers and make announcements can make your event an impressive and high quality “class-act.”

With backgrounds in classical and pop vocals both Jacqui and James can bring just about anything from Italian Opera to Broadway tunes. Their Pop Favorites span a wide range of decades from many genres. Sing-a-longs for many different tastes and ages.

The Duo has a lot of experience tailoring their shows for Fifty-five plus and Homeowner Communities. Many shows are already pre-packaged with the DJ for specific holidays and special events. Sock Hop, Classic Oldies, and Famous Duets are just a few of the themes available.
